Schalke 04 start the weekend in second place in the Bundesliga but that's the highest they are going to finish as Bayern Munich have already been confirmed as champions. The home side in this game are a point and a place above their opponents with 52 and 51 point respectively. The concern of both sides is over Champions League qualification with the top four qualifying and currently in fifth are Leipzig on 46 so a draw or defeat for either side would see that gap narrow if Leipzig can win at Werder Bremen this weekend. Schalke had a shock 3-2 loss at one from bottom Hamburg last weekend and that ended a run of six straight league wins during which they'd conceded just one goal. Home form is strong with wins in each of their last three Bundesliga games and just two home league defeats all season.

Borussia Dortmund can go second with a win and their only loss in the last 14 league games was a 6-0 hammering at Bayern Munich and before that they had gone six away league games unbeaten. They have only lost three away league games this season but have no wins in their last two.  This should be a tight game at the top and with Schalke having a good defensive record, go for under 2.5 goals in this match.
