SC Braga vs Fiorentina Prediction & Betting Tips - Conference League

Sporting Braga and Fiorentina will put aside their domestic duties this week to focus on the Europa Conference League, facing off in the first leg of their last 16 playoff tie on Thursday. Braga will host the match at their Municipality Stadium. They are in Europe’s third-tier club competition for the first time after finishing third in their Europa League group with 10 points. Domestically, they are through to the semifinals of the Portuguese FA Cup and have seen an upturn in fortunes in the league where they have dropped points only once in seven matches, to sit seven points from top spot. Braga shockingly lost 5-0 away to Sporting Lisbon at the start of February. They bounced back though with a draw and two wins, one of which came against Benfica to send them through in the Cup. Braga beat Maritimo 2-1 last time out.

In their debut season in the Conference League, Fiorentina finished second in their group with a record of 13 points gained from four wins and a draw and only goal difference denied them top spot. They have scored the joint most goals at 14 while at the same time conceding just six. Only once did they fail to find the back of the net which in turn resulted in them suffering their only loss. When scoring more than one goal, Fiorentina have gone on to win the match. However, this form hasn’t been replicated domestically for the Viola. They have won just one of their last six matches and will welcome this distraction to get back to a tournament they have excelled in. In their last five matches, Fiorentina have suffered three losses and they have no clean sheet in six games. Away from home, they’ve also failed to win any of their last four games.
