SC Braga vs Estoril Prediction & Betting Tips - League Cup

Braga and Estoril duel in Taca da Liga action this week when the two sides meet at the Estádio Municipal de Braga on Thursday night. The Taca da Liga is Portugal's version of the League Cup, and Braga are the current holders of the trophy. Their second title was secured in the same manner as their first, with a 1-0 victory over Porto. Estoril, the visiting side in this fixture, have never won the competition, nor have they reached a final. Currently plying their trade in the second tier, Estoril are top of the Segunda Liga. Unbeaten in their previous 12 matches in all competitions, the level of opposition they faced on that run doesn't compare to that of Braga. Fourth in the top tier, with 18 points from nine games, Braga showed how ruthless they could be to lower-league opponents when they destroyed Olimpico do Montijo 7-0 in the Taca da Portugal in their last outing. Braga have won 12 of their last 15 games in all competitions. 

Braga are unbeaten in their last six matches at home in all competitions, winning five times. They kept clean sheets in four of those matches. Estoril, meanwhile, have won their last six away matches, keeping a clean sheet in each victory. The task of stopping Braga from scoring will be much more challenging though, especially when one considers that the Liga NOS outfit won their last two encounters against Estoril 6-0. Braga are unbeaten in five meetings with Estoril, winning four times. While we don't expect Estoril to suffer a heavy defeat, we do expect Braga to beat them soundly.
