Serie A leaders Milan only need to avoid defeat to win the title. They travel to Sassuolo who are 11th in the table. Milan won 2-0 at home to Atalanta on Sunday to keep themselves two points clear of second placed Inter. They are ahead of Inter on head-to-head results (four points out of six) so a draw at Sassuolo would be enough to make them champions. Milan have won 13 away league games this season. Only one of their fixtures on the road has been lost and they come into this match unbeaten in 11 away league games. Seven of the last nine have ended in victory and it’s a rare occurrence when they don’t score on their travels. Only in one of the last 21 away Serie A matches have they failed to get on the scoresheet.

Sassuolo are 11th in the table but could finish as high as ninth if getting a shock win over Milan. Last Sunday saw them win 3-1 at Bologna to end a run of four league games without a win. They have won six, drawn six and lost six at home in Serie A. They’ve scored 27 and lost 27 but look likely to end the season with seven home losses and a negative goal difference. They may well have four points from their last two league fixtures but Milan will be heading to Sassuolo determined to win and become champions of Italy.
