Sao Paulo will hope to extend their current unbeaten run when they host Santos on Sunday in the Brazilian Serie A. After 14 matches, Sao Paulo are eighth in the standings while Santos are 13th. Sao Paulo arrive for this match after progressing to the Copa do Brasil semifinals. Dorival Junior’s men defeated Palmeiras 2-1 in the second leg of their quarterfinal tie and won 3-1 on aggregate. They are now through to the last four for the second season in a row. The midweek win extended their unbeaten run to five matches with four of those fixtures ending in victory. Last time out in the league, however, they were held to a 0-0 draw by RB Bragantino. A result that left them with 22 points and out of the Copa Libertadores places. The Tricolor Paulista haven’t lost at home to Santos since 2021 and have won three of the four matches they have played.

The Peixe will now seek to build on this to avoid being pulled further down the standings. Goals haven’t been easy to come by for Santos despite scoring four in their last match. They have managed 15 goals in the league. In their last five fixtures across all competitions away from home, they have scored only twice.
