Santos vs Flamengo Prediction & Betting Tips - Brasileirão Serie A

Santos are sixth in Serie A at the time of writing this preview. They have had a mixed start to the season and host Flamengo who are down in 15th in the league. The home side have played five league games so far this season, winning two, drawing one and losing two. Their opening game nearly saw them get off to a winning start but visitors Bragatino scored a 90th minute equalizer. A 2-0 loss at Internacional followed but then they kicked into gear. Santos won two games in a row with  a home win over Athletico Paranaense and a 1-0 victory at Sport Recife. A second away defeat followed with a defeat at Palmeiras. Home form has seen Santos undefeated in their last 11 league games in which six have seen both teams score.

Flamengo won Serie A last season but have made a slow start to the defence of their title. They have only one win from their first five league matches and are already seven points behind league leaders Internacional. Both of their first two league games were lost, starting with a 1-0 home defeat by Atletico Mineiro thanks to an own goal. An away loss to Atletico GO followed but they finally got their first points of the new season with a 1-0 win at Cortiba.  The last two games have both ended in 1-1 home draws. They followed a distinct pattern with Flamengo going a goal down and then grabbing an equalizer in the dying moments. Flamengo need to get back into winning ways but won't want a repeat of their December trip to Santos when losing 4-0. Both sides are inconsistent at present, a bet on both teams to score looks the one to go for.
