Sampdoria face SPAL in Serie A and are only a place and a point behind their opponents. They have been inconsistent this season with two wins, two draws and two defeats and come into this match with no wins in their last three league games. They lost their opening league game of the season 1-0 at Udinese but then won their next two beating high-flying Napoli 3-0 and then beating one from bottom of the table Frosinone 5-0 away. It's gone a bit wrong since then though with a 1-1 draw at home to Fiorentina followed by losing at home 1-0 to Inter conceding in the 94th minute and then drawing 0-0 at Cagliari. Five of their last seven home league games have had under 2.5 goals scored in them and there have only been three goals scored in their last three league matches.

SPAL are eighth in Serie A and a point ahead of Sampdoria. They got their season off to a great start with two 1-0 wins over Bologna and Parma but it's been a bit of a struggle since then with one win and three defeats. Their last two games have both ended in defeat losing away at Fiorentina and in midweek losing at home to Sassuolo. Three of their last four away league games have ended in defeat and five of their last six league games have seen under 2.5 goals scored in them. Neither side are in great form and the tip for this game is to go for under 2.5 goals to be scored in the match.
