Hosts Salford City once again dropped points in a 2-1 home loss to Accrington Stanley in League Two. That was their second loss in three matches and they’ve won just once in five inside 90 minutes. In the last round of this competition, Salford eliminated Championship side Preston North End on post-match penalties after a 2-2 draw. The big positive for Salford coming into this game is their scoring form. They failed to score in just one of their last five matches. However, they have no clean sheet in the five matches, conceding two or more in four. Three of their last five matches have had over 2.5 goals. They are yet to win at home in their opening two games, the most recent being the Accrington Stanley loss.
Leeds are coming into this game on a high, after claiming their first win of the season in the Championship. The visitors will be looking to build on their 4-3 away win at Ipswich Town. For the fifth straight time, Leeds conceded first and had to claw themselves back. Their start to this season hasn’t been the best though they had earlier eliminated Shrewsbury Town in the League Cup.
