Saint-Étienne find themselves in a great vein of form with six wins in their last seven games. These victories have been crucial for their Europa League chances this season as they have leapfrogged Marseille to get to 4th place. Jean-Louis Gasset’s men have really switched on the style when it mattered though as they are seven points clear of Montpellier and Marseille, a win here would guarantee their place in Europe next season. This should be enough of a motivation to get the team going but they are in incredible form anyway. They have scored 19 goals in their last seven games and have kept four clean sheets in the six wins in that time. They have also won their last three home games with just one goal conceded so they should be pretty confident of doing the job as the hosts here. Montpellier will be eager to spoil the party though as they are still in with an outside chance of finishing 4th. La Paillade are in some solid form with three wins and a draw in their last four games. Their result at the weekend was rather disappointing though as they drew 1-1 with 16th placed Amiens at home. This match came off the back of a famous 3-2 win over PSG so the confidence should have been flowing but maybe complacency led to their underachievement in this match. Montpellier have been winning and scoring well with nine goals in their last four matches, but their defence has been rather poor in recent weeks. They have kept just one clean sheet in their last eleven games, with both teams scoring in nine of these and if they don’t keep it tight against Saint-Étienne, les Verts will run riot.
