Russia vs Saudi Arabia Prediction & Betting Tips - World Cup
by Valeria Di Meglio | in World Cup Predictions
Russia will not head to the tournament on a very good footing and with them being the hosts, perhaps the weight of expectations may just be too heavy for their shoulders. However, they have one of the weakest teams at the tournament to open their campaign with, which may be a good thing for them and a win could go a long way in boosting their confidence but they should not expect it easy from this team that pushed World champions Germany all the way in their final friendly match. Saudi Arabia lost all their last three friendly matches, two of which were against teams heading to Russia; this says a lot about their quality. Russia have gone winless in their last seven matches, kept just one clean sheet in the last 11 matches but have scored in 11 of their last 15. Their defensive frailty has seen them concede 11 goals in their last five matches, which have ended in three defeats and two draws. They have played a total of nine World Cup matches, and won just two; they are winless in their last five World Cup matches. Saudi Arabia on the other hand have picked three losses and two wins in their last five matches, conceding seven, scoring six and keeping two clean sheets. They have six losses in the last 10 matches and three wins in 11. Saudi Arabia are slightly more experienced at the World Cup compared to Russia, and this will be their 13th game at the tournament. However, the Asian side has not won any of the last 10 World Cup matches, losing eight and drawing two. Their last win at the World Cup came in 1994 when they beat Belgium, and earlier they had beaten Morocco.

Our Russia vs Saudi Arabia Prediction
Saudi Arabia are returning to the World Cup after missing the previous two editions and will hope to have a better impact this time than in their last 10 matches. They take on the hosts who have also not been doing well lately, as well as at the World Cup, but will have a big pushing force in the fact that they are playing at home. Saudi Arabia head to the game with a slightly better run compared to Russia but playing the hosts will mean an extra opponent for them in the opening game of the competition. Russia have not had the best run going to this game but they have scored in 11 on their last 15 matches and backing them to score in this one could be a good one but Saudi Arabia may also get to the score sheet. A half time/full time bet of X/1 will do here.
