West Bromwich Albion will be keen to halt their losing stretch when they take on the Championship basement club Rotherham. This matchday 21 will be played at the New York Stadium on Tuesday. The hosts are bottom of the standings with 13 points while the visitors are 5th with 32 points. Rotherham are eight points from safety while West Brom are two points in advantage over the chasing pack. Rotherham lost 2-1 to Swansea extending their indifferent run of results. That made it eight games without a Championship win – four draws and losses each. The Millers have drawn seven matches which is second only to Huddersfield’s nine this season. Yet, they need to transfer that solidity to points to stay in the hunt for safety or risk leaving it for late.

West Brom lost 2-1 to Sunderland over the weekend making it a second loss by the same score in the space of a week. These two losses meant the Baggies have lost a bit of momentum in the race for top-six. They are still in the top-five though, six points behind fourth-placed Southampton. Yet, with Sunderland, Cardiff and Hull all right behind them with only two points in arrears, this match could be crucial as a loss could see them crash out of top-six. It is the away form that is of real concern as they have been alternating results across their last six away league games – three wins and defeats each – after a 2-1 defeat at Sunderland last weekend.
