They stopped a two-game losing run in their last outing, beating Hull City 1-0. That was their third win in five matches and a source for confidence heading into this game. With two clean sheets in four matches, Sunderland can claim to be better defensively. However, they haven't been scoring a lot, managing more than a goal in just one of their last five matches. Three of their last four matches ended in under 2.5 goals and the same is the case in all their last six away matches.
