Basement club Rotherham United will be looking for an upliftment of fortunes as they host a struggling Stoke side. This matchday 27 of the Championship will be played at the New York Stadium in Rotherham on Saturday. Ahead of this round, the hosts are bottom of the table with 18 points while the visitors are 19th with 29 points. Rotherham are seven points behind safety zone, and need immediate improvements to save their season. They lost 1-0 to Premier League side Fulham in the FA Cup last week, but their form in the league has been encouraging of late. They have picked up five points from their last three league games including win over Middlesbrough and a draw against Sunderland. Both those have come at this venue, as the Millers have shown that they can hold their own against top sides.

Stoke are seven points above the bottom-three ahead of this round, which is a comfortable buffer at this stage of the season. Yet, recent form is a worry as the Potters continue to struggle for impact. They were beaten 4-2 in the FA Cup last week, but in the league, they recorded an unbeaten run of six games. That included five draws and a win, which is slightly better than the four defeats in a row which preceded this sequence. Goals still remain a problem for the visitors, as they have scored only 25 goals this season. Only the bottom-three sides have scored fewer goals than them so far. Yet, they did score five goals in their last three away league games and have picked up five points in that sequence.
