Rotherham United host Plymouth Argyle on Friday night with the home side certain to be relegated if they do not win this game. In truth, the Millers are already down in practical terms. They can land a maximum of 41 points, the same that 21st place Plymouth have right now, but they would have to overturn a goal difference that is at best 16 worse than their nearest opponent and 39 worse than Plymouth. They did avoid relegation on Easter Monday, a 2-1 home win over Millwall earning them their first win since the 29th December. A run of 15 games without a win, of which four were drawn and 11 ended in defeats. Those goals on Easter Monday were also the first goals Rotherham have scored in their last six Championship games. 

Plymouth boss Ian Foster saw Monday's results go against his team with the likes of QPR, Stoke City, Blackburn and Birmingham City all picking up either one or three points, plus Huddersfield also gaining a point, it means Argyle, who were not so long ago almost in mid-table, are now just a point outside the drop zone, albeit with a much better goal difference than the teams below them. Their home form, which had been so good, has dropped off a cliff, as they have lost all their last five at Home Park. They've also lost three of their last five away and have just one point from the last 15 available in the Championship. The Green Army have to stop the rot that has set in over the past couple of months and they won't have a better chance to do this on the road than against the bottom club in the division, who have just four wins all season long.
