These two teams are very familiar with each other and this is their sixth meeting in European competitions in the past two seasons and their fourth this season. Celtic won't have too many fears playing Rosenborg as the five previous games have produced three wins and two draws. The Scottish champions made a poor start to the season but still managed to get past Rosenborg in the Champions League qualifiers.and drew 0-0 here. Celtic also made a poor start in the Scottish Premiership but are back on top now and are unbeaten in their last six league and cup games. They breathed life into this Europa League campaign with a 3-1 home win over Leipzig and are now in third on the same number of points as the Germans but behind on head-to-head scores. After this game they host group leaders Red Bull Salzburg but will be wanting a win here.

Rosenborg are bottom of the group without a point but have the slimmest chance still to finish in the top two, though they'll need a big win in Leipzig and Red Bull to win their last two matches. It's slim indeed because Rosenborg just don't look like winning their last two games in this group. They are top of the Norwegian league but have only won one of their last three games. Their last four Europa League games have all been lost and they haven't beaten Celtic in their last five meetings. Celtic have improved of late and can get a narrow win here to keep their qualification hopes alive.
