Norwegian side Rosenborg kick off their Europa League campaign with a home match against Breidablik from Iceland this Thursday. In the Norwegian league, the first half of the season has come with mixed results for Rosenborg and they will be hoping to do better in the Europa League this time. This clash comes at a good time for the hosts though, having won each of their last three matches, after a faulty start to the month of August. Rosenborg have scored 14 goals in their last five matches, but they head to this game with just two clean sheets in the process, and having conceded five. They’ve had a great run at home this season and going to this clash, they have registered five straight wins, all in the league, and they are unbeaten in six straight home matches. The Norwegians will be hoping to transfer this form in the league to their European campaign after a very poor run in their recent matches in this competition. Last season, Rosenborg made it to the group stages of the Europa League but they didn’t win any of their six matches, only managing a point from a possible 18. The poor run left them winless in 12 straight Europa League matches. At home, they have lost in each of their last six matches in the competition, but that was against some of the top teams in Europe. At the qualifying stages, however, Rosenborg do not lose a lot; they have won each of their last six Europa League qualifying matches.
On the other hand, the Icelanders carry a fine run to this clash, but not in the Europa League. They have four straight wins from their domestic action and hope to carry this form to the Europa League, where they have no win in the last six matches. Breidablik are not so experienced in the Europa League like Rosenborg; they have played just 12 matches, all of them at the qualifying stages. Out of the 12 matches, they have managed only two wins. They have conceded two goals or more in three of their last four matches in the Europa League, and with just one clean sheet in their last six matches in the competition, odds will be stacked against them here. Away from home, Breidablik have had defensive issues too; they carry one clean sheet in their last five away matches, and have conceded two or more in three of the five matches.

Our Rosenborg vs Breidablik Kopavogur Prediction
Both teams head to this clash on the back of good runs in their domestic campaigns and will be hoping to carry the same to this clash. Rosenborg will however be the favorites here. They have a good record in their recent qualifying matches in Europa League and are more experienced in Europe. They have also been scoring a lot of goals and playing at home will favour them. Breidablik on the other hand, have not had a very good run in Europe in their previous matches. they have never progressed in the qualifying rounds and with this form, heading to Norway, they know it will be tough. The Icelanders also carry defensive concerns to this match and looking at this, we will back Rosenborg for a 3-1 win.
