Romania will host Kosovo on Tuesday in their next UEFA 2024 Euro qualifying match in Group I. The two nations are separated by five points in the group with Romania having the edge in second place over Kosovo in fifth. Romania drew 1-1 with third-placed Israel at home on Saturday. The result, which extended their current unbeaten streak to six games, moved them up to nine points from five matches. Edward Iordanescu’s charges now trail group leaders Switzerland by three points. Romania drew 0-0 with Kosovo on matchday three. That match, which ended their 100% start to the qualifiers, was also the two nations’ first-ever meeting. Since then, the Tricolours have drawn three successive matches. Denis Alibec scored the equaliser against Israel to register his second goal of these qualifiers. Alibec and Valentin Mihaila top Romania’s scorers chart in Group I.

Kosovo are also coming off the back of a draw over the weekend. Primoz Gliha’s men impressively held Switzerland to a 2-2 draw at home on Saturday. The result should have them confident of coming away with a positive result from their trip to Bucharest. Kosovo are yet to register a win in Group I. They have amassed four points after drawing four of their five qualifiers. Despite finding it hard to win matches, the Dardani have proven to be difficult to beat. They have lost just once in their last eight matches with six fixtures ending in a share of the spoils. Kosovo’s last victory, a 5-1 thumping of Cyprus, was recorded last September. Vedat Muriqi scored a brace then and did the same against Switzerland in Pristina. The Mallorca forward has scored three goals in Group I thus far.
