Romania vs Israel Prediction & Betting Tips - Euro

The hotly-contested Group I in UEFA European Championship Qualifying will see Romania play host to Israel on Saturday. This is a crucial match between the sides currently occupying second and third place in the group respectively. The hosts are on eight points after two matches. They are two points off the leaders, Switzerland and one ahead of their opponents. Romania extended their record in this competition to four matches unbeaten after drawing 2-2 to the Swiss in their last match. That followed wins over Andorra and Belarus and a 0-0 draw to Kosovo in gameweek three. While they ended bottom of their group at the Nations League, they did record seven points, just four points behind the group winners, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Currently ranked 23rd by UEFA, Romania have lost just one of their last seven home games and are the favourites to win this match on the books. 

After a stuttering start to the qualifiers, which included a draw to Kosovo and a loss to the Swiss, Israel have pulled themselves back into contention. The visitors fixtures in June saw them record back-to-back 2-1 wins over Belarus and Andorra, taking them to seven points. Israel were very good at the Nations League and claimed the top spot in their group with eight points. That has assured them of a playoff spot, though they will still want to finish in the top two in this competition. In their last ten competitive matches, the Sky Blue Team have only lost once, which was against Austria back in November 2021. However, it should also be noted that they have only won two of their last nine away games, which is a major reason they are the clear outsiders here.
