Roma vs Sampdoria Prediction & Betting Tips - Serie A

Fifth placed Roma host Sampdoria who are 19th and battling to stay in Serie A. Roma are only a point behind fourth placed Milan as they attempt to get into next season's Champions League. Milan are in poor form and away to runaway leaders Napoli so a move up to fourth place looks likely for Roma this weekend. They do need to get back into winning ways though with two straight league losses to Sassuolo and Lazio. This is an ideal opportunity to do just that. They have won eight home league games this season and had won five in a row (all to nil) before the defeat by Sassuolo. The reverse fixture against Sampdoria saw a ninth minute penalty get them a 1-0 win. They are unbeaten in their last five home league games against Sampdoria, winning four of them.

Sampdoria are in deep relegation trouble and likely to be playing in Serie B next season. There are 11 games remaining but Sampdoria resume their season nine points from safety. Only three Serie A games have been won by Sampdoria this season. Their main problem is scoring goals with only 16 in 27 matches. They perhaps didn't want the international break to take place after beating Verona (one place above them in the table) 3-1 at home on March 19. That ended a run of just three points from 11 games. Away form has only produced a couple of wins with nine points from 13 games. The last five on the road have seen only one point earned. Back Roma to get an important three points.
