AS Roma begin this game in fifth place in Serie A. That's the Europa League qualification spot and they lead AC Milan by two places and five points. Recent weeks haven't seen them in great form though with just one win in their last six league games. Wednesday night saw them take the lead three times at Chievo only to come away from the game with a 3-3 draw that leaves them six points behind league leaders Inter Milan. The draw at Chievo was the third in their last four games but their home form remains strong. Roma have won five of their last six league home games but suffered a 2-0 defeat by Atalanta at the end of November. Since then three of their four Serie A league games have been away and they beat Genoa 2-0 at home on December 20. AC Milan are in seventh place in the table and a loss here would see them eight points adrift of just getting in the Europa League. Wednesday saw them lose 1-0 at home to Bologna. That ended a run of four league games without defeat with two wins and two draws. Away form for Milan isn't one of their strong points with four defeats so far. This won't be an easy game for Roma but their home form is impressive and they can earn three points against an inconsistent Milan side.
