Wednesday was a good day for AS Roma with both the top two in Serie A losing. That left them in third place but now only four points behind leaders Milan and three behind opponents in this game, Inter. While the top two lost, Roma had a comfortable 3-1 win away at bottom-of-the-table Crotone. All their goals came in the first 35 minutes as they won their third straight game in Serie A. Now they host Inter looking to continue their good home league form. They have won each of their last three home league games. Those victories came against Sampdoria, Cagliari and Torino, all in the bottom half of the table. Their eight home matches in Serie A this season have produced twenty points. Only seven goals have been conceded on home soil, the best defensive record in the league. The goals have been flowing though with nine of the last 12 home league games having over 2.5 goals scored. Eight of the last 12 have seen both teams get on the scoresheet. It's an improvement on the way they began 2020 when they had a run of one point from four home league matches.

Inter had been unbeaten in 13 away Serie A games until Wednesday afternoon. They lost 2-1 at Sampdoria but would have drawn but for Sanchez missing a penalty. They will have been relieved to see leaders Milan lose later on but know that wins for Roma,and Juventus mean they dare not drop more points in this game. Eight successive league victories had been recorded by Inter until that shock loss on Wednesday. It was the sixth time in eight away league games that both teams have scored. Their last two league trips to Roma have both ended 2-2. Last season it took a late Romelu Lukaku penalty to rescue a point. This is a fascinating game and Roma will be all out to close the gap on Inter. A bet on both teams to score is the suggested wager.
