Rivers United will be desperate to get back to winning ways in the NPFL when they take on Bendel Insurance at the  Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. Rivers United have not been at their best of late, winless in their last three matches either side of the New Year after losing 2-1 to Plateau United over the weekend. 

Having only taken five points from their last five matches (W1 D2 L2), the Pride of Rivers were also forced out of the lead in the league standings, now trailing Remo Stars by five points.

However, the hosts do still have a positive record at home, unbeaten in their last four matches (W3 D1 L0), while they have only lost once at this venue all season. 

Meanwhile, after a wretched run of form up to the end of November, Bendel Insurance are on an upward trajectory, now just two points from safety. 

The Vipers held Enyimba to a goalless draw in their last match, extending their current unbeaten run to five matches which is a notable improvement after losing three of their last four. 

The visitors have proven tough to beat on the road of late having drawn each of their last three away games, though they still only tasted victory once on their travels this season.
