Korea Republic vs Portugal Prediction & Betting Tips - World Cup
by Steve Ashfield | in World Cup Predictions
This is the final round of matches in World Cup Group H. Portugal are top of the group, three points ahead of Ghana with South Korea in third on one point, ahead of Uruguay on goal difference. The Portuguese team have already qualified for the last 16 but have not won the group. A point from this match will ensure that happens. If they lose and Ghana beat Uruguay, it would go down to goal difference but Portugal are three ahead on that at present. For South Korea, only a win will give them a chance of qualification. They would reach the last 16 but not if Ghana beat Uruguay. Goal difference may have to decide the second place if teams end up level on four points. It's going to be a tense evening unless Portugal and Ghana both win.

Korea Republic - Portugal: Form Analysis
South Korea arrived in Qatar in good form with only one loss in their last nine matches. That form has not been carried into this World Cup group with only one point earned from two games. They began with a draw against Uruguay but then lost 3-2 to Ghana to put them in danger of an early exit. Only one of their last 11 matches in World Cup finals has been won with five of the last seven being lost. They had kept three successive clean sheets before conceding three goals to Ghana. Finding that defensive steel again will be important in this match against Portugal.
Portugal have won both their opening games and have now won four of the last five with the other being a loss to Spain in the Nations League. Nine goals have been scored in their last three internationals with Fernandes scoring twice in two of those matches. He's also had a couple of assists so is a key player for the Portuguese. Ronaldo is in form too and that makes Portugal a dangerous team. Six of their last eight games has seen them score at least twice. They will want to make it three wins in a row because finishing second in this group could well see them having to face Brazil in the last 16.

Korea Republic & Portugal Squad Analysis
South Korea have their manager Paulo Bento suspended after being sent off against Ghana. That's a big personal blow as Bento is a former Portuguese international. Na Sang-Ho is likely to be recalled for this match after being a substitute in the last game.
Portugal have qualified so may decide to rest some players. Nuno Mendes is an injury doubt for them and may be one of those rested and saved for the last 16. Other injury doubts are Danilo Pereira and Otavio. Rafael Leao, who came on as a sub against Ghana and scored may start the game.
