Already guaranteed a spot in the Round of 16, Sevilla hope to finish their UEFA Champions League group campaign off on a high when they travel to Rennes on matchday six. Second in Group E with 10 points from five games, Sevilla are destined to finish as runners-up after being battered by Chelsea on Andalusian soil last week. Olivier Giroud scored all four goals in a 4-0 win for the travelling Blues. Rennes are bottom of the group after only picking up one point from their five games. Defeat in Krasnodar last week means that Rennes cannot escape the floor of the bracket; fourth is the limit for the Ligue 1 side. That certainty could bring strange freedom to this match. With nothing to play for, Rennes may indeed put in their best performance of the group stage, not that it would require much. The French side have been dreadful for the best part of two months, failing to win 11 of their last 12 matches in all competitions. Lately, simply avoiding defeat is a task for Rennes, who have lost eight of their previous ten outings. 

Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui could perceive Rennes as a cautionary tale, in which case he will wish to end his side's losing run as soon as possible. The Spanish side had a tough follow-up fixture after the Giroud debacle, and promptly lost 1-0 at home to Real Madrid in La Liga action. Away from home, they have won their last two matches in all competitions. They are not only unbeaten on their travels in the UCL this season, but undefeated in five away matches in this competition overall, a run that stretches back to 2017. We expect them to extend that streak with a win here.
