Rennes are looking to rise from a shock loss to Stade Reims in their next game when they play host to Nice in their Ligue 1 clash at the Roazhon Park. The two sides are both looking to return to winning ways with this game finding them 10 points apart. Rennes are fifth with 31 points and Nice 10th on 21 points. Rennes’ 11-match unbeaten run in Ligue 1 was ended in their last outing as they fell 3-1 to Stade Reims. A slow start to this game left Rennes trailing 2-0 early and even when Arthur Theate pulled one back, they never looked like claiming three points from the match. Clearly, they’ll need to improve on the performance. It was a fourth game in six without a clean sheet and in seven of the last 10 matches, both sides have scored. Rennes have failed to score in just one of their last 10 home matches in Ligue 1; they’ve scored two in each of the nine home league games.

Nice on the other hand, haven’t lost a game in the last seven outings but they haven’t won most of these either. In their last seven games, they have three wins and four draws. Ahead of this game, they drew 0-0 with Lens, a result that presented them with their third clean sheet in their last 10 league matches but it was the second time in that run that they failed to score. Both teams have scored in six of Nice’s last eight matches and their run of four wins in 10 matches is definitely one to improve on. Both sides have scored in their last four away matches, but the only time they lost in the last six away league games was against PSG.
