Matchday one in the CAF Confederation Cup will see RSB Berkane taking on Sekhukhune United on Sunday evening. The hosts finished sixth in the Moroccan Botola Pro 1 last season. They booked their spot in the main draw by beating Bendel Insurance 3-2 on aggregate in the qualifying rounds. RSB have made a solid start to their domestic campaign this season. They are in second place after nine matches, level with league leaders FAR Rabat on 17 points. The Oranges Boys played out a 1-1 draw against Rabat in their last league match, marking their third consecutive draw following a win over Youssoufia Berrechid at the start of October. Still, they are unbeaten across all competitions this season and have not tasted defeat since mid-June. The hosts are also unbeaten in their last 11 matches dating back to April and are the clear favourites in this one. 

Meanwhile, Sekhukhune United finished seventh last season, and it is fair to say it has been an erratic couple of years for them. After finishing 11th in 2021-22 and seventh last season, the visitors are down in 12th this term and in desperate need of some type of consistency. Babina Noko secured a much-needed 2-1 win over Supersport United before the international break, snapping up a three-match losing streak. During that time, they were also knocked out of the League Cup on penalties by TS Galaxy. Over their last six league matches, Sekhukhune United have lost four, drawn one, and won one. They also failed to score in four of those matches while conceding eight. The visitors are also winless in their last four away games, including three losses and a draw and may find it difficult against a miserly RSB defence.
