Marseille are set for their penultimate Ligue 1 game away to Reims on Wednesday, continuing with their quest for Europe. Hosts Reims have their Ligue 1 place secure while Marseille will be eyeing a Conference League slot in the last two matches. Reims’ final two matches of the season have aligned well for them – they are both home games. It is a chance for them to improve on their winless run of six matches coming here. Reims, with key players out injured, will need to work harder to better their current run of two wins in 15 matches. Their 1-1 draw with Brest last time out was an improvement from an earlier run of three straight defeats. Les Rouge et Blancs will not find much to look forward to in their home form either. They have just one win in seven home matches and failed to score in three. Their head-to-head run against Marseille doesn’t make for a very good reading either. They haven't won any of the last seven meetings, losing five.

For the second straight time, Marseille came from behind to beat Reims the last time these two met. The 2-1 win at home marked Marseille’s seventh unbeaten outing against Reims. Coming into this game, the visitors will be going for three points to aid in their quest for European football. The Europa League, in which they participated this season, is beyond their reach. However, they can still contest for the Conference League, being three points behind sixth-placed Lens. Marseille responded to their elimination from the Europa League with a 3-1 win over Lorient in their last match. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice in that game, to take his Ligue 1 tally to 16 goals. They will be looking to build on it here, but two wins only in their away league matches this season won’t be very motivating. Marseille did grab a late equalizer for a 2-2 draw with Toulouse in their last away game in the league. That result brought to an end a run of two straight defeats away in Ligue 1 and provides the motivation to rise here.
