Reims will be out to get back to winning ways when they host Lens next in the French Ligue 1. Five points separate the two teams at the moment with Lens in sixth having the advantage over ninth-placed Reims. Reims are going through a slump and are coming into this match having not won in four games. They have lost three times in this period and are on a two-game skid. Will Still’s men were defeated 2-0 last time out by Lorient to suffer their ninth loss of the season. Les rouges et blancs have managed nine wins and have amassed 30 points. A 10th win of the season could see them move up to within two points of the European places. Reims have registered five of their nine wins at home but have also suffered four of their defeats as hosts.

Lens haven’t lost to Reims since 2019. They have won four of the seven matches since then and are on a two-match winning run in this fixture. Franck Haise’s men won the reverse match 2-0 back in December. With the form they are in at the moment, the visitors will be confident of a victory here. Lens bring with them a four-game unbeaten run to this round. Les Sang et Or drew 0-0 with Freiburg in midweek in the first leg of the two’s Europa League knockout playoff tie. It was a disappointing result as it also ended a three-match winning run. Lens will be eager to get right back on the horse here and build up momentum for the return match next week. The visitors have won 10 games and have accumulated 35 points. A fourth successive league win here could move them into the Champions League qualifying places.
