In a battle between two of LaLiga2’s form teams, fourteenth placed Real Oviedo have a tough home fixture, playing host to leaders Las Palmas. Their recent record however, should give them more confidence than usual. Oviedo are unbeaten in their last five games, winning four of those and keeping their goal intact in three. They have overseen an upturn in performances in front of their own fans. Specifically, the hosts have seen each of their last three home fixtures go their way without conceding, including a commendable victory over fourth-placed Granada. They had however, lost the three home matchups before those, yet they have never lost against Las Palmas at home, remaining unbeaten in their previous seven clashes. 

Las Palmas’ strong start to the LaLiga2 campaign has hinted that this could just be their year to return to Spanish elite football. They lead the table on goal difference from Alaves. The Canary Islands outfit overcame Gijon’s obstacle at the weekend, in what was their third win in four. In addition, Las Palmas have been extremely resolute in defence. They boast the second best defensive record in the division, only behind Burgos, while they have kept eight clean sheets in their last thirteen league matchups. On the downside, they have won just four of their last nine away games and have never beaten Real Oviedo on the road, with their record there being 0-2-5.
