A game of two halves is a popular expression when it comes to football and here's a Champions League tie that could well fit the description. It's more a case of a game of two ties really as Real Madrid try their hardest to claw back a 2-0 deficit from the first leg. Wolfsburg, playing in their first Champions League quarter final went two goal up inside 25 minutes and despite Madrid having 21 goal attempts they couldn't get a goal back. Real did better at the weekend with a 4-0 home win over Eibar and all of a sudden they're only four points behind league leaders Barcelona. Madrid have scored 58 goals in their last 15 league home games and have scored 15 in four home Champions League games without reply. Wolfsburg have had some excellent home wins in the Champions League this season but only one away win in Gent. In the Bundesliga only Frankfurt have a worse away record and European qualification is looking unlikely unless they can win the Champions League. I go for Real Madrid to win this on a -1 handicap, whether that will be enough to get them in the semi-finals remains to be seen.
