Defending champions Real Madrid have made a strong start in their bid to win this competition for the third straight year. They began with a 3-0 win at home to APOEL and then had a 3-1 win away to Borussia Dortmund. They are unbeaten in their last 15 home Champions League games and you have to go back to 2009 for the last time they lost a home tie to an English side with Liverpool the victors that night. After a shaky start to their La Liga season, Real have won their last three league games and are up to third, five points behind Barcelona. They face a tough battle against Tottenham who are strong away from home and have also won both of their games in this group also scoring six goals and conceding just once. They are unbeaten in their last nine league and cup games but struggled to get a 1-0  home win over Bournemouth at the weekend. Of course they rely a great deal on Harry Kane, though not as much as some managers think. Away form in the Champions League hasn't been great with just three wins out of ten.  The fear for Spurs is that two poor results against Real would allow the other sides back into the running for the knock-out stages. Real are in top form at present with six wins in their last seven and they can get the home win here.
