Osasuna and Real Madrid are two of the three clubs yet to taste defeat in La Liga this season, along with league leaders Athletic Club but while Real and Athletic are separated only by goal difference, Osasuna are further down the standings, at 10th place with seven points. After their opening win, away to Leganes, Osasuna have managed four straight draws, including an impressive comeback in which they drew with Barcelona 2 – 2 with Roberto Torres scoring a brace in the clash. Osasuna have just returned to the league, after taking part in it in 2017 and they will be looking do a better job this time round; dating back to their 2017 campaign in La Liga, they have just four wins in 35 La Liga matches. Roberto Torres has been instrumental in three of the four goals Osasuna have scored this season and heading to this game he will be a key man to watch, especially when they face a Real Madrid side straight from just their first clean sheet in six matches. In their two away matches in La Liga this season, Osasuna have picked four points and they have scored in both matches. However, they have lost in each of the last five meetings with Real Madrid and have no win in 10 meetings with the Spanish giants. In nine of the last 10 meetings between these two sides, Real Madrid have managed to score two or more goals, and Real have conceded nine goals in the 10 meetings.

This clash has over time been an easy walk for Real Madrid; in the last 10 meetings, they haven’t lost and in the entire 34 meetings, they have picked 22 wins and lost just five. It comes at a right time for Real, when they need a good lift after struggles earlier in the season and will present a good opportunity to build on the win over Sevilla. Real Madrid’s French forward Karim Benzema has been a key man for the side, netting five goals already, and will definitely be the man thrusted upfront by Zinedine Zidane in this clash as the team looks to go top of the table. Against Sevilla, Zidane fielded a very attacking side and Real did just enough to win it with a clean sheet; Benzema, Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, and Eden Hazard all started the game and though Sevilla had the giant’s share of possession, Real carried the day. If they can build on the same and get ruthless in front of goal in this game, then Osasuna are in for a long evening.
