Real Madrid vs Mönchengladbach Prediction & Betting Tips - Champions League

This is a massive match for Real Madrid and in particular, Zinedine Zinedane. They begin this final Champions League group game in third place, a point behind visitors and leaders Borussia Monchengladbach. Madrid could win the group, end up in the Europa League or even finish bottom. The latter two results would surely result in a managerial change. Madrid began this group with a home loss to Shakhtar Donetsk and then had major problems away in Monchengladbach. They were trailing 2-0 going into the 87th minute but amazingly managed to salvage a draw. Another late goal was needed to get a 3-2 home win over Inter and then beat the Italians 2-0 away. More problems surfaced though when they lost 2-0 away to Shakhtar leaving them in big danger of being eliminated. Never since the Champions League began, have they failed to make it out of the group stages. A win will take them into the last sixteen, a draw will only be good enough if Shakhtar lose to Inter. Home form in this competition has only seen them win two of their last eight games. 

Borussia Monchengladbach will win the group if avoiding defeat in Madrid. If they do lose, then they’ll have to hope that Inter draw with Shakhtar. The German side have scored 16 goals in this group, eight at home and eight away. They really should have qualified by now, having conceded those late goals against Inter and Real. Only one of their three home games was won but on their travels, they have four points from their two games. The chances of them getting on the scoresheet here look good, a bet on both teams to score is definitely the one to place.
