Real Madrid vs Liverpool Prediction & Betting Tips - Champions League
by Daniel Ngulu | in Champions League Predictions
The 2018 Champions League final marked the last time Liverpool and Real Madrid faced off; they meet again on Tuesday in Madrid for the first leg of their quarter final clash in the competition. Both sides are coming from wins in their domestic leagues, Liverpool having thrashed Arsenal 3-0 and Real with a 2-0 win over Eibar. Real Madrid’s next three matches will be very crucial to their season. After this game, they head to the El Clasico and can’t afford to lose either. After that they head to Anfield for the return leg against Liverpool; very key games. Against Eibar, Karim Benzema scored his seventh goal in five matches and will want to keep leading his team here while Marco Asensio was also on the mark with his third goal in three matches after returning from injury. It could get better for Real with manager Zinedine Zidane’s confirmation that Belgian international Eden Hazard could make a return from injury in time for this game. However, skipper Sergio Ramos suffered another injury setback and will miss the game. Real have four straight wins and an 11-match unbeaten run ahead of this game. Their win over Eibar presented their first clean sheet in six matches, and they’ve scored two or more in four of the last five matches. In the Champions League, they have three straight wins, but lost twice earlier in the group stages and have three clean sheets in the eight matches this season. They head here with three straight wins at home in this competition.
Liverpool, on the other hand, are getting their mojo back after a recent slump that saw them suffer eight losses in a span of 15 matches. They thrashed Arsenal in their last league game, setting a run of three straight wins. It was also their seventh win in the last 15 matches and they’ll want to carry this run of form to Madrid as they take on the side that beat them 3-1 in the 2018 Champions League final. Karim Benzema, who scored the opener on that night in Kiev is still around and in top form. He will for sure be a handful for the Reds’ makeshift defence. However, with three straight clean sheets, Liverpool will feel prepared for the challenge at hand, though they’ve come against much weaker opposition. A leading light for Liverpool in this game will be Diogo Jota, who has been great since returning from injury, with six goals in four games for both club and country. In the Champions league this season, Liverpool have six wins in the eight matches played. Their only loss came at home against Atalanta in the group stages. They’re unbeaten in the last four Champions League matches and have six clean sheets in the eight played.

Our Real Madrid vs Liverpool Prediction
Real Madrid have done well lately despite having to negotiate through injuries. Liverpool have struggled a lot with injuries to key players but are getting at their best. Three straight wins will prepare them well for this task and in their new found scoring form, they should be able to trouble Real Madrid. With both sides coming to form, back this game to produce over 2.5 goals.
