Real Madrid vs Chelsea Prediction & Betting Tips - Champions League
by Nella Wagah | in Champions League Predictions
UEFA Champions League action resumes for the semis and among the opening fixtures, Real Madrid will be hosting Chelsea on Tuesday after the two sides registered mixed results over the weekend. Real Madrid played to a 0-0 draw with Real Betis as Chelsea beat West Ham United. Real’s draw with Betis meant they’ll be disadvantaged in their chase for the league title, but in the Champions League, it is all in their hands as they face a second Premier League side in two straight rounds. They’ve failed to score in three of their last four matches and head here with four straight clean sheets. Real Madrid are unbeaten in their last 17 matches but have just two wins in the last five matches. The team has had to deal with a lot of injuries this season but going to this game that is easing a bit. Dani Carvajal is back from injury and Raphael Varane is also back to boost the defence. Eden Hazard is also back and featured in the Betis game. However, skipper Sergio Ramos and Lucas Vazquez remain out while Toni Kroos is a doubt. Real have four wins in the last five Champions League matches, with three clean sheets therein and have four straight wins at home in the competition. Karim Benzema has scored four goals in the last four Champions League matches at home.
This is the first ever meeting between these two sides in the Champions League. Chelsea have been doing well since German coach Thomas Tuchel took over and they go here with three wins in the last five matches. The Blues have however been scoring fewer goals lately; in fact, they failed to score in two of their last four and in the other two they haven’t scored more than a goal. However, they are good defensively, and have three straight clean sheets going to this game. They are coming from a crucial 1-0 win over West Ham United and will be glad to see Timo Werner’s name back on the score sheet. Chelsea are unbeaten in the last 10 away matches across all competitions, winning eight of them and will have only former Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic injured for this game. In the Champions League, Chelsea have one loss and seven wins in their last 10 matches. They have five straight away wins in the competition, with four clean sheets therein.

Our Real Madrid vs Chelsea Prediction
Real Madrid haven’t conceded a goal in the last four matches, and with key men in defence returning, they’ll be even tougher defensively. At Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel’s philosophy is built on tough defending, and they head here with three straight clean sheets. Both sides have also not been scoring a lot and we will back this to see under 2.5 goals scored.
