Real Madrid vs Barcelona Prediction & Betting Tips - LaLiga
by Daniel Ngulu | in LaLiga Predictions
Barcelona have the Europa league game against Galatasaray to think of at the moment but there’s no denying their minds will be preoccupied by the El Clasico game coming in this Sunday. The Catalans will travel to the capital to face Real Madrid for the third time this season, this time in La Liga though. Ahead of this game, the margins are very clear; Real Madrid top the standings with 66 points, a massive 15 ahead of third placed Barcelona, who have a game in hand. Real Madrid will have the extra advantage of extra rest as they don’t have a midweek game. In their last five matches, Real Madrid have posted straight wins and they’ve also rediscovered their scoring touch, while there has been great improvement defensively. In their last five matches, Real have scored 14 goals and let in just two - against PSG and Real Sociedad. They’ve scored three or more goals in four of their last five matches. This is a game that has gone Real Madrid’s way in recent times, and going here with five straight wins and a six-match unbeaten run against Barcelona will give them confidence. In the last five matches, Karim Benzema has scored eight goals and he will be a man to watch here. No striker in La Liga is in better form than the Frenchman at the moment but he remains a doubt after limping off the Mallorca game.
Barcelona have a tight schedule in the coming few days; they are set to travel to Galatasaray for a Europa League game that is poised at 0-0 from the first leg. After that another away match at arch rivals Real Madrid awaits. It will be tough for them imagining their rivals have no midweek activity but Barcelona, winless in the last six matches against Real Madrid should have enough to rise above all these. They go into this game unbeaten in five matches and have also been playing well under Xavi Hernandez. The first league meeting between these two sides found Barcelona in really poor form but they’ve turned the tide ahead of this game. They have made a few great signings and things are moving well at the team at the moment. In each of the last five league matches they’ve scored two or more goals. They don’t have many players to match Karim Benzema’s current form but Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Ferran Torres have been doing well in recent games. Barcelona have also improved defensively, with two clean sheets in the last three league games. Away from home, they are unbeaten in the last 10 league matches, winning five.

Our Real Madrid vs Barcelona Prediction
Real Madrid are unbeaten in 24 La Liga matches at home and head to this game on the back of five wins in their last five matches. They have also beaten Barcelona in their last five meetings and carry a great scoring run to this clash. It is still not clear whether they will have their leader Karim Benzema in this game and this will be key. Barcelona have a midweek game before taking on Real Madrid and though they’ve found their footing after a slow start, they will be underdogs here. With the two sides’ scoring runs, back both to score and a win for Real Madrid.
