There’s a Madrid derby this weekend in La Liga and if results go against them on Saturday, it could even be the day in which Rayo Vallecano’s relegation is confirmed. They’ll be out to cause an upset against city rivals Real Madrid but their fate looks all but sealed now with Paco Jemez failing to turn the tide since his appointment. Rayo looked like a team that was all but resigned to their fate when they could only draw at home to bottom club Huesca last weekend. The Aragonese minnows have since overtaken them after Rayo collapsed to a 5-0 defeat at Sevilla in the 2nd Half on Thursday evening. Even if they win all their remaining games now, Rayo can only reach 40 points but with just 5 points from their last 13 matches, it’s hard to see that transpiring. Real Madrid now look destined to finish 3rd and behind city rivals Atleti, not to mention Barcelona, for the second season running. They could only draw 0-0 at Getafe on Thursday night but they did impress at times in that game with Brahim Diaz showing his qualities in attack.

It’s 14 points from 7 games since the return of Zinedine Zidane and they are strong favourites to improve on that here. They did play well for an hour at Getafe and they will be up against a considerably weaker defence here. Rayo no longer really look like a team that believes they can stay up and an early goal for the visitors could really see them cave in. They’ve now conceded 1.82 goals per game in the league this season, the worst record in the division and confidence won’t be high at the back, having let in 5 in 31 minutes on Thursday night. Real Madrid rotated a bit in their game at Getafe, with talisman Karim Benzema surprisingly left out. Having scored all of his team’s last 8 goals, Benzema should return to the eleven here and in that kind of form, he will fancy he can get on the score-sheet again. Backing Benzema to Score Anytime could certainly be worth a punt. Real Madrid are rated at 1.45 to win with Bwin.
