Rayo Vallecano will continue with their push for a return to La Liga when they host Mirandes on Wednesday in the Segunda Division. The hosts are on 55 points and placed sixth going to this game, while Mirandes are 12th in the standings with 44 points. Ahead of the game, Rayo occupy the final promotion playoff spot. In their last game, they registered an important 2-1 win over seventh placed Girona, opening up a seven-point gap between them and the team also seeking promotion. Rayo still have a game in hand and a win on Wednesday will send them fourth. In their current form of four wins in five, they will have the belief though an automatic promotion slot may be too far. In their last away match, Mirandes rose from a goal down to beat promotion contenders Sporting Gijon 2-1 and will be hoping to add Rayo to the list.
