Rangers are only fifth in the Scottish Premiership but top this Europa League group by a point from Rapid Vienna. Their Europa League campaign began back in July and this is their 11th game so far and they are yet to lose one this season. Their first group match saw them twice come from behind to get a 2-2 draw at Villarreal and followed that up with a 3-1 win over Rapid Vienna. They trailed in that game too and it was still 1-1 with six minutes to go. Home form in this competition is strong though with five wins in the last six and in all competitions they have won their last eight scoring 19 in the last five. 12 of the last 13 at home have been won and that is going to make life difficult for Spartak in this game.

Spartak Moscow prop up the group with just one point from their first two games. They kicked off with a 2-0 defeat at Rapid Vienna and then drew 3-2 at home with Villarreal, trailing in the game then leading 3-2 only to concede a 96th minute equalizer from the penalty spot. Spartak are sixth in the Russian Premier League and have only scored 12 goals in their opening 11 fixtures. They have only won one of their last five away games in this competition.
