Rangers vs Kilmarnock Prediction & Betting Tips - Scottish Premiership
by Daniel Ngulu | in Scottish Premiership Predictions
Glasgow Rangers will play host to Kilmarnock on Match Day 5 in the Scottish Premier League this Saturday as they look to bounce back after their 0-0 draw with Livingston in the last match. The hosts currently top the standings with 10 points, while the visitors are eighth with two points. Rangers opened the season with three straight wins in the league and dropping two points in their last match was somewhat a shock. The result, after a dominant display, marked the last of their perfect start but their defence is still intact, having not conceded a goal yet in the league and they will be glad to play at Ibrox, where they have registered two 3-0 wins. In their last 14 home league matches, Rangers have registered just one loss, and in the process won 12. They have kept 10 clean sheets in the 14 home matches and failed to score in only two. In nine of the last 14 home matches in the league, they have scored two goals or more.
Kilmarnock beat Rangers 2-1 in their last meeting and will be seeking to repeat that here, as they seek their first win of the season. It has not been rosy for the team and they go to this game on the back of a 2-1 loss at home to St. Johnstone, which ended in key defender Ross Millen’s sending off in the 63rd minute and he will be unavailable here. Millen’s absence will be a big concern for the side which has no clean sheet yet in the league and has conceded twice in three of the four matches played. In their last two matches, Kilmarnock have led but gone on to drop points and from a defensive angle, this is something the manager will want to address. Three of the last four goals they have conceded have come in the final 10 minutes, which signifies some concentration loss in the dying minutes and facing this clinical Rangers side will call for a lot defensively. Furthermore, they have not had the best returns when playing away in the league, winning just one of their last 13 and conceding two or more goals in nine.

Our Rangers vs Kilmarnock Prediction
Rangers had a dominant showing in their last match but dropped two points. After losing their perfect start to the season, they will be gunning for a return to winning ways when they play at home, where they have been so good in their recent matches. They have 12 wins in their last 14 home matches in the league and have scored two or more in nine of these. On the other hand, Kilmarnock, winless in their opening four matches, come with a leaky defence and a very poor away record. The visitors have one win in 13 away league matches and have conceded two or more in nine of the 13 matches. Looking at the home/away returns for the two sides, as well as their defensive/attacking records, we will go for a 2-0 correct score win for Rangers.
