Rangers are battling Aberdeen for second place in the Scottish Premiership and will be confident of earning thee points against Dundee. Their opponents are in danger of being relegated this season and lost to Celtic in midweek. The home side are three points behind Aberdeen and with a better goal difference and have the chance to make up some ground or even go above their rivals who have a tricky away game at Hearts this weekend. Rangers could do with a win though having managed to earn just one point from their last three league games including a 1-0 home loss to Kilmarnock. They trailed Motherwell 2-0 in their last league game but fought back to get a draw. Home form has seen Rangers lose three of their last four league matches but Dundee at Ibrox Park is a lot easier than recent oppositon though they have lost seven home league games this season hence the lack of a title challenge. Previous games against Dundee this season has seen them win 4-1 at home and lose 2-1 away.
While Rangers are trying to finish second, Dundee just want to keep out of the bottom two and avoid relegation problems. They are five points above Partick in the play-off position and bottom of the table Ross County This is the final league game before the split so the rest of the season will be relegation battles so at least no games against the top sides. Dundee have two points from their last five games but have won three of their last five on the road. Despite that form they struggle against the best sides in the table so go for a home win in this game.
