Rangers - Celtic: Form Analysis
Rangers have picked the worst time to hit a speed bump as they come into this important fixture having recorded only a single win in their last five appearances across all competitions. Their most recent fixture saw them battle back from a 2-0 halftime deficit to ultimately salvage a 2-2 draw away against Motherwell.
While they did well to come away with anything at all in that match, a 2-1 loss to St Mirren three days prior means that Rangers have fallen well off the blistering pace set by Celtic. They now sit 14 points behind their Glasgow counterparts.
This is the third meeting between these two sides this season with Celtic emerging victorious in the first two.
The first was a routine 3-0 home league win for the Bhoys back in September. The second came through penalties to claim the Scottish League Cup after a wild 3-3 draw in regulation time just over two weeks ago.
Celtic regained the League Cup title as their dominance in the 2024/25 season continued. Brendan Rodgers’ side has now managed 16 wins and two draws in 18 league appearances and have lost only once across all competitions in the entire campaign, which includes the Champions League.
They’ve won their last two in a row, both at home by 4-0 scorelines, over Motherwell and St. Johnstone. The most impressive part of their performance so far is perhaps their staggering goal differential. The hosts have notched 52 goals while conceding just four in 18 league fixtures.
