The top four teams in Ligue 1 have already been knocked out of the French League Cup and that leaves fifth-placed Strasbourg as the top ranked team in the competition. Both teams have won this competition three times in their career and only PSG have won it more times. Strasbourg have so far beaten Lille, Marseille and Lyon in this season's competition and are deserved favourites to win this game. Their current form is strong with seven wins in their last eight league and cup games with the other game being a French Cup loss to PSG. Home form has seen them lose just one of their last ten games.

Bordeaux make a second visit inside a week to Strasbourg after losing 1-0 in the league at the weekend. They nearly got a draw but conceded a 93rd minute winner when Lala scored. Bordeaux have had a much easier route to this semi-final beating relegation-threatened Dion and Ligue 2 side Le Have, both by 1-0 scorelines. They are 12th in Ligue 1 and lack consistency with the last seven games producing three wins, three defeats and a draw and in the league only three of their last 12 have been won. Strasbourg are the form side and can get another home win over Bordeaux to reach the final.
