Struggling Lugo have the chance to rise from the relegation zone when they travel to Campos de Sport de El Sardinero to face Racing Santander, who are also not in very good health coming into the Match Day 18 clash. Santander are 17th with 18 points, just two above the relegation zone, while Lugo are 20th with 15 points, two below safety. Santander, the hosts, are coming into this game on the back of two straight defeats, at home to Burgos and most recently away to Albacete. Despite their poor returns coming into this game, they have two clean sheets in the last five matches, and have lost just two of their last 10 games. What has really slowed them down is the fact that they have managed just three wins in the last 10 games. In eight home matches, Racing Santander have managed just one win while half of their matches have ended in draws.

Lugo are in even poorer form; they come into this game winless in their last six matches, and they’ve managed just one win in their last 10 games. The visiting team has failed to score in three of the last five matches, and all the three have as a result ended in losses, while they have no clean sheet in the past five games. In spite of their poor run, Lugo have been able to keep scores low even in matches they’ve been dominated, except the 4-0 loss to FC Andorra. That is the only game in the last seven that they’ve let in more than a goal. Four of their last seven matches have produced under 2.5 goals. Their away form is not the best either, coming into this game with four straight away defeats and they have failed to score in any of their last three away matches. Lugo have no clean sheet in nine away matches this season; they have six losses in that run and just one win.
