Racing Club Avellaneda vs Flamengo Prediction & Betting Tips - Copa Libertadores

Matchday 3 in the Copa Libertadores will see Racing Club taking on Flamengo at the Estadio Presidente Domingo Peron on Friday. After failing in the group stages at the Copa Sudamericana last year, Racing have gotten off to a very strong start in the Copa Libertadores this season, currently leading Group A with six points. The hosts have won both of their group-stage matches so far, the most recent being a 3-2 win over Aucas which followed a 2-0 win over Nublense last month. Despite their good form in this competition, Racing have found it difficult in domestic competition, failing to win any of their last five league matches. Racing is now 14th in the Liga Profesional Argentina table with just 18 points after 14 matches. At home, Racing has been much better than on the road, managing five wins in their last seven home matches in all competitions, and they will be hoping that they can keep their 100% record in this competition intact, though it may be a difficult feat against a strong opponent. 

Meanwhile, the defending champions, Flamengo, suffered a surprise defeat in their first match of the Copa Libertadores, losing 2-1 to Aucas on opening day. However, they did bounce back well in the second match to beat Nublense 2-0 a couple of weeks ago. It’s been a poor start to the season so far for the Brazilians, who currently sit in 13th place in the Serie A, managing just one win in their first three league matches. Following a 3-2 loss to Botafogo last weekend, Flamengo’s record over their last eight matches in all competitions is now an underwhelming three wins and five losses. Despite their poor form, Flamengo will still be the favourites in this match but will need to find their best form quickly or may find themselves dropping more valuable points in this one.
