13 places and 17 points separate QPR and Leeds as we go into this weekend of action at Loftus Road for round 28 of the Championship. Interesting to note is the fact that QPR who are 15th have actually scored more goals (45) than their second-placed guests Leeds have with 43. However, as we have found out this season Mark Warburton’s side have struggled defensively conceding 51 goals which is only topped by bottom club Luton, who have shipped 58 goals, as the worst defence in the league. Leeds have conceded less than half that total, conceding just 23 times.
Nahki Wells and Eberechi Eze have combined to score a total of 22 goals in the Championship this season, with Wells scoring his 12th last weekend in a West London Derby versus Brentford however, as has been the story of the R’s season so far their defence let them down as they lost the game 3-1 to make it three defeats in their last four league matches. QPR have won just one of their last six Championship fixtures but were victorious during that dismal run in the FA Cup overcoming Swansea in a 5-1 trouncing to advance to the 4th round. QPR have won both of their last two home games as they also hammered Cardiff 6-1 prior to that cup win.
Leeds have also won just one of their last six Championship games and they alongside West Brom have seen their automatic promotion spots put in jeopardy due to their stagnated form. Brentford are hot on Leed’s heels with just six points now the gap but Leed’s do have hope given the fact they have won four of their last six away games in the Championship and have just two defeats in nine on the road losing out to Fulham and Arsenal in the FA Cup.
