The hosts will not be able to move out of the relegation zone this week although a victory could potentially cup the gap to just a single point. After three consecutive seasons of mid-table finishes, QPR faced the possibility of the drop last year with a 20th-place finish. Due to the congested nature of the Championship mid-table, the Bluebirds can potentially move up to as high as eighth-place with a victory and if other results go their way. After narrowly avoiding the drop last season, Cardiff now find themselves just five points off the top six. The visitors come into this fixture off the back of a 2-0 home defeat to league leaders Leicester City. Cardiff have now managed just a single win from their last five league fixtures. They’ve also failed to find the net in five of their last eight Championship matches as well as five of their 12 away fixtures total. Signs that point towards this potentially being a low-scoring affair.
