QPR were in the bottom three for the first six games of the season but have picked up well in recent weeks. They beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 at home in midweek following up on the 2-0 weekend win at Ipswich Town. That makes it four league games unbeaten with three wins and a draw. All of a sudden they are only four points away from the play-off positions and eight above the relegation zone. Importantly, they have kept three clean sheets in their last four games, a massive improvement on the start of the season when losing their first three games and conceding 11 goals. At home, QPR have only lost one of their last five league games, conceding just twice.
Tuesday saw Aston Villa lose 2-1 away to Norwich City, their first defeat under new boss Dean Smith. They had taken an early lead but two second-half goals by Jordan Rhodes cost them the game. The defeat moved them down to 16th in the table, six points adrift of the play-off spots but the same number of points above the relegation zone. Villa had won their opening game under Smith but have now won one of their last six league games and just two of the last twelve. Away form began with a win at Hull City on the opening weekend of the season but since then they have just three draws from six matches. The momentum is with the home side and the tip here is for a QPR win.
