The season didn't get off to a great start for PSV Eindhoven as they crashed out of the Champions League. They lost on away goals to Basel (who themselves are in the Europa League now) and were transferred into the Europa League. PSV managed to make their way and won through two qualifying rounds against Haugesund and Apollon without conceding a goal.
