PSV Eindhoven will welcome Rangers FC on Wednesday for the return match of their UEFA Champions League playoff qualifier. The tie is tied at 2-2 following the first leg hosted by Rangers last week. At the end of this match, the winner on aggregate will qualify for the group stage. PSV are in smashing form and will be confident of getting the job done here. Peter Bosz’s charges bring with them a nine-match unbeaten run. They had won eight matches in a row before the first leg draw in Glasgow. The Dutch Eredivisie side has won 13 of their last 14 competitive matches at home. To boost their chances even further, the Lightbulbs were not in action over the weekend so have had ample time to prepare. Luuk de Jong scored the second equalizer in the first leg match and has now scored in three successive matches. PSV have been eliminated from the Champions League in this playoff round in their last two appearances in the competition.

Rangers FC defeated PSV in this very round last season. They drew 2-2 in the first leg at home, just as it is now, and went on to win 1-0 away. This ended a more than 10-year wait for the Scottish side to make the group stages proper of the Champions League. Micheal Beale’s charges will hope for the same outcome to make back-to-back group stage appearances since the 2010/11 season. Rangers responded to the first-leg result by defeating Ross County 2-0 away from home in the league. This extended their current unbeaten run to six matches with four of those ending in victory. The Gers need to win here to progress as another draw will send the game to extra time and possibly penalties. Beale made three changes against Ross County, resting Abdalla Sima, Ryan Jack, and Jose Cifuentes. Sima scored the opener in the first leg.
